Artist's Comments

Mostly I walk around with a clipboard full of typing paper...
when I'd wait for meetings, or stare at tv... I'd take an 05 micron and cross hatch away at this thing...

Sort of retro steam-punk IRON GIANT looking robot, that fell asleep by a babbling stream and ran out of batteries...
thirty years had passed under the willow, until it is discovered again... by a beauty, of course!

scanned into p-shop and given the sepia/parchment treatment...

I keep getting this Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein work mixed with Moebius feeling with this piece. The amazing hatching combined with the line weight and just ever so slightly looser technique... but I think that might be my own attempt to try and describe this work.

Excellent piece.

thank you for the kind observations... i was trying to see how i could incorporate tight disciplined inkwork with ink sketch styles in more
atmospheric areas. This was a hard piece to look at and say, "it is done."

Indeed. Someone once told me that the difference between an amateur and a pro is when they say "it is done".
